Project Role Conducting wet-lab molecular analyses and the subsequent statistical analyses
Background Conservation genetics of different alpine species ranging from mammals (red deer, chamois, hares, etc.) to reptiles (common lizard), amphibians (mountain frog, black salamander) and birds (galliforms). Identifying the main factors, evolutionary, biotic and abiotic, responsible for shaping patterns of distribution of genetic diversity and differentiation across natural populations of different species of mountain ecosystems. Spatial and temporal analyses of distribution of genetic diversity. Genomic approaches for studying genetic biodiversity.
